Suspicious E-mails & Websites

Criminals are routinely circulating emails claiming to be from a bank, they will often ask for:

  • Personal information, such as date of birth, address or National Insurance (social security) number
  • Money as fees before releasing larger sums to you or transaction costs

Heritable Bank will never contact you via email to ask for such information or fees.

Fraudulent e-mails imitating Heritable Bank

If you have received an email claiming to be from Heritable Bank and requesting personal information, as above, then: -

  1. Please forward a copy to info@heritable.co.uk  so we can try to prevent future emails
  2. We would recommend you delete the email and have no further contact with the sender.  It is fraudulent and someone is trying to invade your privacy or defraud you of money.
  3. You may also wish to contact your local police, particularly if you have already responded with information or money.

 

Contact Details in Fraudulent E-mails

Fake emails will often contain supporting material to try and establish the e-mail as legitimate. This would include other email addresses, phone numbers and websites for you to use as part of their fraudulent acts. The following provides guidance and example of legitimate and fake contact details.

Legitimate Email Addresses

Genuine emails from Heritable Bank will only come from an address ending: "heritable.co.uk”

  • Example1@ heritable.co.uk
  • Example2@ mortgages. heritable.co.uk

Any other address is most certainly a fake.

Fake Email addresses

Some fake e-mails may seem legitimate at first glance and even include the words "heritable" or "bank". However if they don’t finish "heritable.co.uk" they are readily identifiable as fake. Previous fake addresses have included:

  • admin@ heritablebank.onlbnk.com – the address ends "heritablebank.onlbnk.com"
  • trans.heritablebank@ livesync.com – the address ends "livesync.com"
  • heritablebankltd@ london.com – the address ends "london.com"
  • barr_rp115@ yahoo.com – the address ends "yahoo.com"

Money Transfer Instructions

Heritable Bank does not allow money transfers to be made through it relating to payment for goods purchased by a third party from another third party. If you are selling goods and have received details from a purchaser or prospective purchaser of those goods that indicates Heritable Bank will be party to that transaction, then the purchase is very likely to be fraudulent. We would strongly advise you not to complete such a transaction.
